Hi All,

I hope you're enjoying the holidays.

This email is to inform you of a new player registration requirement which is being introduced by the DDSL for the coming season and requires your urgent attention. It applies to players who have already paid their Dalkey United fees for 23/24 and are on teams in the DDSL only. It does not apply to teams in the Leinster Football League, the Metropolitan Girls or to players in the Academy. We have tried to send this email only to parents of players in the DDSL but there is unavoidable overlap with some of the non-DDSL teams and the Academy, for which I apologise.

Who has to register?

If your son will play on any of our U9 (2015) to U18 (2006) teams in the coming season, he will be playing in the DDSL and must be registered to be eligible to play. If your daughter will play on the U9 (2015), U10 (2014), U11 (2013) or U12 (2012) teams she will also play in the DDSL and must be registered. The other Girls teams - 2009/10 team (Simon Boucher’s team) and the 2011 team (previously Brian McDonald, now Nick McDonnell) - play in the MGL and are not affected by this. If your son or daughter is younger than U9 (2016 or younger), he or she will continue in the Academy and is not affected by this. If you're not sure, your Age Group Coordinator will be able to help.

The Registration Process
All DDSL players need to be registered on the DDSL portal. Please follow the link here: DDSL Registration.

  1. A copy of the player’s Passport, Birth Cert or Dept of Justice Cert must be uploaded.
  2. A recent photo must also be uploaded.
  3. There is an annual registration fee of €30 per player, which covers player insurance, FAI registration and other affiliation fees, as well as DDSL admin, staff costs, and IT investments.
  4. Once players have registered to a club, they are allocated to specific squads within that club by the Club Secretary. The process is only complete when the player is allocated to a squad.

Additional details and FAQ are here: DDSL Registration FAQ

I would ask you all to register your children as soon as possible as unregistered players will not be eligible to play for the club. The league season resumes on August 27th for U17 & U18 teams, September 2nd for U12s-U16s and September 9th for U9s-U11s.

Thank you.
