Our U14 Girls Premier team recently travelled to Salou to compete in the Barcelona Girls Cup. The girls played against multiple Iceland teams, as well as teams from England and Ireland. The team finished 2nd in their group, with two impressive 7-0 and 4-0 victories. 

Progressing to the quarterfinals, the girls were defeated by a strong Iceland team who went on to win the tournament. In the 5-8 place playoff match versus our local rivals,  Granada FC, the girls played brilliantly, leading to a score of 1-1 at the full time whistle. Dalkey won 5-4 on penalties, securing a game in the afternoon versus FC Evolution from England.

Playing for 5th place, our girls gave all they had in their 6th game of the weekend. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure the victory in a tough match and ended up losing 2-0. 

Overall, the girls had a commendable performance, finishing 6th out of 16 teams in their age group.
