It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Declan Kelly, a beloved member of the Dalkey United family, who left us suddenly on Monday. Declan is survived by his devoted wife, Aideen, and their four wonderful children, Lauren, Sean, Eoin, and Ava.

Declan’s involvement with Dalkey United spanned many years, during which he served as Treasurer of the club. His passion for the game was only rivalled by his love for the community, always offering his time and energy to help others. Whether it was supporting his kids on the sidelines or lending a hand behind the scenes, Declan was known for his big heart and ever-present willingness to help.

He had a distinct sense of humour that could lift the spirits of those around him, and his love for the outdoors was infectious. Declan embodied the very essence of what it means to be part of a club – not just in his commitment but in the kindness and joy he brought with him every day.

Our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. Declan’s legacy of warmth, humour, and generosity will live on in all of us who had the privilege to know him.
