As the leaves start to turn and the air gets crisper, we're excited to kick off another promising season here at Dalkey United Football Club. Our teams have been training hard, and we're ready to take on new challenges, both on and off the pitch. There have been some significant changes within our club's leadership, and we're thrilled to introduce some new faces who will be instrumental in guiding Dalkey United to even greater heights.
As a club, our aim is to promote football for boys and girls of all ages from the Academy through to our Senior team. This would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our Age Group Coordinators, Coaches and Team Managers and the group of volunteers who work behind the scenes. Thank you to you all.
We can always use more volunteers. If you feel you could help around the club in any way, either coaching or administratively, please speak to one of our coaches or contact a member of the Committee.

Introducing Our New Chairman: Dion Fanning
We are delighted to announce Dion Fanning as the new Chairman of Dalkey United Football Club. Dion brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role, and we're excited to see where his leadership will take us.
Dion is no stranger to the Dalkey United family; he has been actively involved in the club for several years. Currently, Dion serves as one of the coaches of our U11 team, where his passion for the game and dedication to nurturing young talent are evident every week. His background in sports journalism has given him a deep understanding of the game, and his connections in the football community will undoubtedly be a great asset to our club.
As Chairman, Dion is committed to fostering a strong community spirit within the club and ensuring that Dalkey United continues to be a place where young players can develop their skills, enjoy the game, and build lasting friendships. We're confident that under Dion's leadership, the future of Dalkey United is brighter than ever.

Welcoming Our New Treasurer: David Thompson
We're also excited to introduce David Thompson as our new Treasurer. David steps into this crucial role with a strong background in finance and a deep love for football.
David has been a part of Dalkey United for several years, and like Dion, he has made a significant impact as a coach. David is currently coaching our U14 team, where he is known for his strategic thinking, dedication, and ability to motivate his players to reach their full potential. His professional expertise in finance, combined with his hands-on experience in coaching, makes him the perfect fit for managing the club’s finances and ensuring we continue to grow sustainably.
David is eager to contribute to the club in this new capacity and looks forward to working closely with the rest of the board to support our teams and enhance the overall experience for all our members.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Outgoing Board Members
As we welcome new leadership, we also want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to three individuals who have served Dalkey United with distinction.
Dara Marnell, our outgoing Chairman, has been a driving force behind the club's success in recent years. Dara's leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in guiding Dalkey United through a period of growth and development. Under his stewardship, the club has flourished both on and off the field. We are incredibly grateful for Dara’s contributions and wish him all the best.
Robin Potter Cogan, who has served as our Treasurer, has been a cornerstone of the club’s financial stability and growth. Robin’s meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment have been invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for his years of service.
James Stok has been our dedicated Secretary, ensuring that the club’s operations ran smoothly and efficiently. James’ organizational skills and dedication to the club have played a crucial role in our success, and he will be greatly missed on the board.

We’re Looking for a New Secretary!
With James Stok stepping down, we are currently on the lookout for a new Secretary to join the Dalkey United board. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about football and eager to contribute to the club’s ongoing success.
If you or someone you know is interested in taking on this important role, please reach out to us at chairman@dalkeyunited.ie for more information. We would love to hear from you!

Belles of the Meadow
Enniskerry FC ran a girls only football tournament for clubs in the Dublin and Wicklow region at the end of the Summer. Dalkey United entered four teams from different age groups and had great success. Our U16s and one of our U12 teams made it to the final and our U11team won the cup in their age category. Fantastic achievement and a great start to the season

DLR Waves Academy
Dalkey United. has entered into a partnership with DLR Waves as a pathway for our girls to progress in football.  DLR ran trials for talented players from a number of clubs over the last few weeks and we’re delighted to say that they have selected four of our 2009/2010 players to join their Academy this Autumn. Well done girls!  In December, DLR will run trials for their U17 National League Squad for girls who have taken part in the Academy so watch this space!

U15 Boys Capture Cup at Gorey Rangers Memorial Tournament
Starting the season off in fine form, our U15 boys captured the clubs first cup of the season with a win over Gorey Rangers. Captain Harry Brennan led the way with 2 goals.
