As many of you will know, over the last 5 years a lot of work has been done on proposals to redevelop the clubhouses in Hyde Park. The Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund, which is key to the financing of the project, has been closed since 2022 but reopened at the end of April.
- The Govt has announced a second round of the LSSIF and it is envisaged that at least €120m will be available for allocation towards sports projects.
- Up to 70% of the cost will be provided … this is a game changer! The last round of funding only offered 50%.
- Our proposal is to re-develop our facilities with a modern new building - we have been working on this in the background for the last 5 years.
- The facility will include a lobby, 4 changing rooms, storage, and a meeting/warm up room in the Dalkey United managed section.
- We will have access to a new sports hall for 5-a-side, a gym, a fitness room and a café, in the Cuala section of the building.
- Our partners in the development are DLRCC, Cuala and St John of God Adult Services.
- The deadline for applications for funding is 1 July.
- This is another big step in our goal to improve all our facilities including access to, and quality of, playing pitches.
- More to follow …"
