Parents and Friends –

Despite the challenges of miserable weather and unplayable pitches we’ve had a solid start to the season. There has been a lot of training and a lot less matches but I’m hopeful the mix will even out. A big thank you goes out to all our players for your enthusiasm and dedication, to all our coaches and managers for your hard work and commitment to our teams, and to all our parents for your ongoing support.

As you may recall, we had Cup Winners, and Cup and League Runners-Up last season and while Dalkey United emphasizes participation and enjoyment over winning, it’s always nice to pick up some silverware while we’re having fun! Best of luck to all our teams for the second half of the season - here’s hoping we win a few more titles along the way. And while we’re looking forward to 2024, we have the usual roster of Easter Camps and the Dalkey United Champions League to look forward to (more details below), so please note the dates in your diaries.

Finally, thanks to my fellow Committee members for all the hard work you each do behind the scenes to keep the show on the road, and on behalf of whom I’d like to wish everyone a Happy & Successful New Year!

In memory of…

We sadly heard of the recent death of Mr Tom Roche from Dalkey. Tom was one of Dalkey United’s very first team members back in 1953 when the team entered the Wicklow league that year – and won!  A great achievement for their first year.

We wish to express our deepest sympathies to Tom’s family.

Easter Camps

Hyde Park is home to our very popular Easter Camps. Camps will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm for the weeks either side of Easter, March 25th to 28th and April 2nd to 5th. Our girls-only sections were very popular over the summer, and we hope to manage for this again. Registration will open in later on this month - stay tuned.

Dalkey United Champions League

The Dalkey United Champions League will again take place over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Almost 400 children took part in this year’s tournament, and we hope to build on that again this May. As always, volunteers make these things happen and if you are interested in helping, please let us know.
